Eligibility Criteria for Admission Test:
2.1. For Group A:
Students who passed SSC or equivalent exams in 2012 or 2013 and HSC or
equivalent exams in 2014 or 2015 from Science group under Secondary and Higher
Secondary Education Board / Madrasah
Education Board / Technical
Education Board may apply. The required
GPA for application is 6.5 including
minimum GPA 3.5 in SSC or equivalent exams and minimum GPA 3.0 with 4th
subject in HSC or equivalent exams. Students having a grade below C in any
subject in HSC or equivalent exams will be considered ineligible. Students from
GCE must have pass marks in at least five (5) subjects in “O” Level exams which
must include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and biology, and at least two
subjects among Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology in “A” Level exams.
Students with a grade below C in any subject in “O” and “A” Level exams will be
considered ineligible.
For Group B: Students who passed SSC or equivalent exams in
2012 or 2013 and HSC
or equivalent exams in 2014 or 2015 from Science group

2.2. Students who passed SSC or equivalent or GCE
“O” Level or equivalent exams before 2012 are not eligible to apply.
2.3. Foreign students can also apply directly
provided that certificates enclosed with their applications be approved by the
Equivalence Committee of the university.

3. How
to Apply:
To apply for the admission test one has to send an SMS
to 16222 from a prepaid Teletalk mobile phone. Immediately after the
deduction of exam fee from the account of the applicant’s prepaid Teletalk
mobile, a User Id and Password
will be sent through an SMS which must be preserved with care.
Application sent once through SMS cannot be withdrawn.
3.1. From the message option of a prepaid Teletalk
mobile phone, type NSTU, then with space each time type the first three letters of respective
HSC Examination Board, SSC roll number, SSC passing year and the keyword for
desired Group, and then send it to 16222. For example:
NSTU<space>COM<space>123456<space>2015>spacespace>123456>space<2013 b="">space>A. 2013>
This example is for those of Comilla Board.
Here applicant has to type his/her HSC and SSC roll number in place of 123456,
and if the passing year of HSC is 2014, type 2014 in place of 2015. Similarly,
to apply to Group-B, type B in place of A; type C in place of A for
Group-C and type D in place of A for
Group-D. In place of COM for Comilla Board, type SYL (Sylhet), BAR (Barisal), CHI (Chittagong),
DHA (Dhaka), DIN (Dinajpur),JES (Jessore),RAJ
(Rajshahi), MAD (Madrasah) and TEC
(Technical Education Board) as required.

3.2. After the above mentioned SMS is sent by the
applicant, a return SMS bearing the
applicant’s name, desired Group, admission fee and a PIN code will be sent to
the applicant. Then the applicant has to confirm it by sending an SMS to 16222.
To send this SMS to 16222, type NSTU, with space each time type YES, PIN
and one particular mobile number for
contact with the applicant.
For example, NSTU YES
654321 01XXXXXXXXX.
Here applicant’s individual PIN
code will be typed in place of 654321. The admission fee will be deducted from
the account of the applicant’s mobile only after the applicant sends the
confirmation SMS.

3.3. Applicants from “O”/”A” Level have to send SMS
to 16222 in the above mentioned way. In this case, the name of the Board will
be GCE. For example, NSTU GCE 123456 2015 A. Here in place of 123456, applicant’s individual candidate number in A Level has to
be typed and if the passing year is 2014, one has to type 2014 in place of
2015.
3.4.
Admission in Quota:
Interested candidates may apply for the following
quotas by sending SMS to 16222 as mentioned above.
Freedom-Fighter Quota (FFQ), Tribal Quota (TQ) and
Physically Disadvantaged Quota(PDQ).
Example:

Similarly, to apply to Group-B, type B in place of A;
type C in place of A for Group-C, and type D in place of A for
Group-D.
3.5).
Admit Card Download:
Applicants will be asked through SMS to download
his/her admit card. Applicants will keep the scanned soft copies of a passport
size colored photograph (300x300 pixel, maximum 100 kb) & a signature (300x80
pixel, maximum 60 kb) in two different folders. Now on visiting the website http://nstu.teletalk.com.bd
, he/she will make sure of the input of User ID & Password of the
respective group received while applying through SMS. If the input is
successful, option for uploading the photo & the signature will appear. If
the User ID and Password are somehow lost, type < NSTU<space>HELP<space>first
three letters of the name of HSC Education Board<space>HSC Roll
No<space>Passing Year of HSC> and send it to 16222.
After successful completion of this process, Admit
Card Print option will be available. Then two copies of Admit Card need to be
printed both of which must be brought to the examination hall. One of them must
be kept preserved with the applicant and the other to be submitted to the
respective invigilator of the examination hall. Applicant’s name, roll number
and choice of group will be kept mentioned in the Admit Card. Admit Card has to
be downloaded separately for each group in the same manner. Once the uploading
of photo and signature is accomplished, no further change can be made.
4. Date and Time of Admission Test:
Group A: 20 November 2015, From 10.30 am to 12.00 pm
Group C: 20
November 2015, From 3.00 pm to 4.00 pm
Group B: 21 November 2015, From 10.30 am to 12 pm
Group D: 21 November 2015, From 3.00 pm to 4.00 pm
5. Admission Test: MCQ
method will be followed in the test.
6. For Group A: There will be 125 questions with 25 each to
Bengali & English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. Physics,
Chemistry and Mathematics are compulsory for all. Any one from Bengali, English
and Biology can be attempted. The total mark is 100. The pass mark is 40.
For Group B: There
will be 100 questions with 25 each to Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and
Biology. The total mark is 100. The pass mark is 40.
For Group C: 100
questions including 60 to English and 40 to Bengali will be set. The total mark
is 100. The pass mark is 40. One must get at least 30 and 10 in English and
Bengali respectively.
For Group D: Bengali (25), English (25) and General
Knowledge (Bangladesh & International concerns) (25) are compulsory for
all. General Mathematics (25) is exclusively for the students of Humanities,
Business Principle & Practice and Accounting (25) for those of Business
Studies, and General Science (25) for
those of Science group .
6.1. Minimum pass mark for each subject of A, B
& D groups is – 08.
6.2. OMR answer sheets will be provided by the
concerned authority of the University. The circle for the right answer to the
corresponding question must be filled in by a black ink ballpoint pen. The way
to answer is detailed in the “INSTRUCTION” of the question paper. Only
one answer sheet will be provided for each examinee.
6.3. Questions will be set in accordance with the
standard of Higher Secondary Curriculum.
7. Admission Fee: While
getting admitted, one has to pay around 2000tk as admission fee.
8. Merit Score & Merit List:
8.1. A merit list prepared against 200 marks will be
based on 1) Eight times the GPA obtained in SSC or equivalent exams including 4th
subject. 2) 12 times the GPA obtained in
HSC or equivalent exams including 4th subject. and 3) Marks obtained in the admission test.
8.2. If more than one candidate gets the same merit
score, priority will successively be based on admission test roll number, grade
obtained in HSC & SSC etc.
8.3. In strict accordance with the merit list,
candidates will be called to choose their preferred subjects. In case of
vacancy, candidates from the waiting list will be called according to their
position in the list.
